My Voice Experience
Qualcomm - Fujitsu - Cox Communications Media - CBS - Blindfold Studios - Pacific Islander Festival - ABC - NBC - Car Dealers - Restaurants - Attorneys - The Taxman - Corporate strait reads for looping product demos...the list goes on and on and available upon request.
In the mid to late 1970's I was having dinner in Marina Del Rey at a restaurant that sat on the marina. We sat outback, great weather, early dinner so no crowd. The table next to us was vacant - and then I heard his voice and immediately knew it was the Austrian Oak - Arnold Swartzanegger! In his bodybuilding prime - he was massive!!He smiled at us, shook our hands, and kept talking with us for a while. I couldn't help but turn to him and being only 17 years old, or so , at the time - I ask "what is the key to success?". In his always confident manner, he smiled, looked me strait in the eyes and said "Find the thing that you can do easily..that is so natural for you, you could do it in your sleep. That is what you have to find in yourself and do that!" Took me another 10 years to convince myself the big guy knew what he was talking about - and he did!
For me, no job too small - nor - too big. I love what I do and I am good at it! (little Arnold there!)
My Training
I am a Native Hawaiian - Born In East L.A.! My Father was Asst. Business Mgr to Red Skelton - and my Father was a Lifetime member of the Musicians Union both in Los Angeles, Ca and Honolulu, Hawaii. So "shy" and "introvert" did not exist in our home! Growing up I displayed an ability to mimic TV show people...first year high school got involved in Drama; by graduation I was tapped to be a Life member of the International Thespian Society. I also learned I could sing very well in high school - performing background vocals on 2 albums. College was Telecommunications with emphasis on Broadcast Studio Operations. Suddenly wife and children appeared in my life and kept me very busy!
In 1987 - my Voice Over Career began standing in a shower stall at a friends house with him running the board from his bedroom. I still have the master of that day...Cobra Car Alarm, was my first paid spot. The momentum took a quantum leap when in:
1988 - literally over the phone I was hired by Metro Networks as a on-air traffic reporter in San Diego - servicing 7 radio affiliates. This is what I did for 15+ years more - performing literally thousands of voice overs -all with no agent! My on air name was "The FULL MONTE".During this span I worked for: Infinity Broadcasting, CBS, Westwood One, Shadow Broadcast Services and came full circle to work with Metro Networks again. I am a fully vested AFTRA member - however - left broadcasting in 2003 - so I am inactive.
I have performed every delivery, every style. I've done radio, booth announcing for television news. Emcee 11 years now for small to large events.
Today...7 children later (4 still at home) my time is my own...so I can respond quickly to any request! I love to write as well.

Additional Skills
I always envisioned doing Movie Trailers...but the "in another world" guy is THE KING OF THE HILL ..so I stay humble, but ready..James Michener once told me "Success..is where preperation meets opportunity."
In Corporate world - I am the perfect point man...I can talk to anyone,on any level - and leave he warm and fuzzies thing...everybody remembers Monte! Good sense of humor I inherited from my parents who were truly funny people. I've helped clients and Creative Directors write commercials on the spot when they were blank. I am not shy and handle myself well on camera - and I've been told that I have a great face for radio!
