My Voice Experience
John Lemley has been a news and classical music host since November 1992, when he joined the staff of WBHM, Birmingham.
John has served since September of 2005 as local news anchor on All Things Considered at 90.1, WABE, Atlanta's NPR affiliate. Since June of 1997 John has also hosted WABE's classical music programs Daytime, Bach's Lunch and Tapestry.
He also currently serves as the official daytime announcer (6 a.m to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday) for WABE's companion TV station WPBA 30
My Training
John holds a B.A. in Musical Theatre from Birmingham-Southern College, where he studied music, acting, stage direction, stage dialects and French.
Most of John's voice over training was on-the-job through his work at WABE and WBHM-Birmingham, where he began his public radio career in November of 1992.
However, John's very first radio job was in 1984 (at the age of 16) as host of an afternoon drive (adult-contemporary format) music show on WKLD-FM in his hometown of Oneonta, AL.
