I do a pretty good Gary Owens style exaggerated announcer/game show voice, movie trailer tone, gravelly wrestler or drunk/heavy smoker voice (Tom Waits).

Some Cartoon, whacky voices, Donald Duck, Buggs Bunny, Pirates, Ren and Stimpy, others.

Sexy voice similar to Barry White, deep and breathy.

My Voice Experience

I'm pretty new to this, but I've had people tell me for years that I have a voice made for radio. I have done some acting, mainly dinner theater murder mystery comedies for 4 years, and a student film. I've also been in bands of various sorts doing cover tunes where people would often mention that I would accurately capture the voice of the original artist.
The dinner theater events were fund raisers at the Universalist Unitarian church of Joliet.

My Training

I have a BA in Interdisciplinary studies from Governor's State University, where I took a couple of courses in TV studio production, where I met a young lady who had done some voice over work, and had suggested I look into doing it. I also gained some experience using a teleprompter and recording video presentations in a studio environment.
While working in a number of bands I recorded in studios and in a number of other environments.

My Studio Equipment

I have computer interface via a Line 6 toneport which came with the Ableton live 4 recording programme, and Sony Acid studio for recording, and an old 4 channel porta-studio that records to standard audio cassettes.
I have a collection of microphones that are mainly performance oriented, including a vintage Shure 55sw, Shure SM58, Shure PG81 condenser, Electrovoice DS35, 2 Audio Technica D190E, Electrovoice 630, Astatic JY crystal mic, Telex 55DYN, Shure PE588, EV 671, MXL 991 condenser, a pair of Monacor ECM-74 electret, a Sony home recording mic, a Carol MUD-876, Realistic PZM, and a Realistic 33-1070 omni directional mic. I have mirophone stands and the needed cables for all of these. There are a couple of cheap computer mics.
I also have a number of different amplifiers, mainly for guitar or bass, a Peavey XR600F, a Traynor 6 channel 100 watt PA mixer/amp, a variety of speakers, an ART SGE mach 2 processor, Digitech RP1 effects pedalboard, a Realtube 2 preamp and Ashley stereo 35 watt power amp, marshall JCM 800 combo, Fender Bandmaster(modified), Carvin pro-bass 500, Acoustic 150 head, Roland Jazz Chorus 120, peavey drum amp, Roland micro amp, Yorkville Bloc-100 combo, 16 watt Kustom combo, and a realistic 80 watt mono mixer amp
my main audio amp is an old Marantz model 15 and matching preamp, and I have a backup Hafler preamp and Sanyo 100 watt stereo amp. I have access to a Tascam 2340 reel to reel. I have a Dynaco super 70 tube power amp.
i have a number of stand alone guitar effects that could be adapted to vocal audio work, including a Digitech GSP21 and RP1, Morley echo pedal, Boss Echo-reverb, chorus padals, flanger, Wah, and of course distortion pedals.

Additional Skills

The small porta-studio is battery powered as well as AC, and I could record with it in unusual locations if the sound quality would be good enough.
I have worked as a Model maker and have a number of somewhat unusual materials around , and could use these to make foley devices for sound effects to enhance the recordings, or reflective containers that could cause unusual reverb sound reflections.
My main audio room is heavily insulated from outside sounds, with a heavy carpeting and angled walls to reduce the chance of standing waves, but has a fairly live area between two sliding glass mirror doors. I had a friend a number of years ago who's brother was a half owner of Chicago Recording Company, and I learned quite a bit about recording studio construction techniques from him, as he did a lot of the carpentry at CRC. We recorded our band in a number of their studios.
