Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Accents: Scottish, Irish, North American, Mid-Atlantic. English: classic BBC, Yorkshire, Lancashire, London and more.
I can also do French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian accents in English - natural or caricature, as required.
I speak good French and Spanish and COULD do voiceovers in either - BUT obviously with a British or American accent. I am NOT a native speaker of these languages.

My Voice Experience

'Discovered' as a VO while playing Stanley in 'Streetcar Named Desire'. Over the past 25 years I've done corporate/ documentary jobs on a daily basis, promos for CNN, radio ads for Carlsberg, TV commercials for Federal Express, KPMG, Sheraton and many, many more. I've also read stories on BBC radio, narrated audio books, and recorded TV spots in the US through my agent in New York. In Tourism and Travel, I recently voiced Holland, the Movie, and a series of podcasts for British Travel entitled Myths and Legends.

My Training

Years of theatre experience plus some film work. In addition to VO's, live and on-camera presentations at international business and press conferences. I also train and mentor clients in presentation skills.

My Studio Equipment

I have my own basic studio with Wavelab software, AKG 1000S mic, Tascam USB audio interface, so I can produce clean, edited voice recordings on demand. For anything more sophisticated I have easy access to excellent pro studios nearby, all equipped to the highest standards, and with ISDN links.

Additional Skills

I'm a natural sight reader, even of highly technical (e.g. medical, pharmaceutical) texts. I'm a creative writer (2 books published to date), a translator, copywriter, speechwriter and former English teacher, so I'm used to last minute tweaking of texts in studio.
