Voice Description

My voice is warm and a bit reedy. I can mellow it for long technical readings or increase its character as the situation warrants. I can use very precise diction or speak more casually to close distance with the listener.

I do numerous cartoon and celebrity impressions (too many to list here--listen to my character demo), American dialects (Surfer, Texan, Southern, Bronx etc.), British dialects (Posh, Cockney, Irish, Scottish), accents (Italian, French, Scandi, Hindi, Hispanic etc.)and character types.

I am a jazz and pop singer, as well.

My Voice Experience

I've been singing professionally on and off for fifteen years, and recently began offering my voiceover skills.

I have one published audiobook: Great Canadian War Stories, an anthology, published by the Alberta Press. In this work, I was the sole reader, and gave voice to over 40 characters over 18 stories.

I have also narrated several public domain texts, and am in negotiations to sell these to audiobook merchandisers.

My Training

I've been singing all my life. My father was a classical musician and voice teacher, so I gleaned much from him about expanding range and adding texture to my voice.

As the singer of a regularly performing jazz trio, I am continually challenged to hone my interpretive skills.

I have made my living primarily as a writer, and so my love of words, their sounds and meanings, is innate.
