My voice has a rich, multi-layered quality ranging from lower ranges, raspy, sexy, to gentle (airy). Professional singer with a high capacity for imitation. Recorded professionally for many studio sessions, experienced. Strong, theatre quality sound, strong projection, similar to Alanis, Jewel, Anna Nalik...various styles, able to growl, bluesy to very smooth for a rich narrative style. Able to pick up accents quickly, excellent breath control and fast to learn.

My Voice Experience

I got a job doing singing telegrams locally, during this time I was singing back up in a gospel, blues band. Formed my own band 2 months later and sang cover songs for three years, all over the capital district of albany new york. I was hired professionally by clubs, private parties, etc. I have done several studio projects and sung on the CD Grey Gardens by Jeremy James I am extremely comfortable in the studio. My experience performing live for several years and the studio work I have done have given me a confidence and it shows in my voice, regardless of the voice I am doing. I am a strong singer and consider every day of life and speaking as a new vocal adventure!

My Training

I studied at Russell Sage College with a minor in theatre. Classes included Acting 1 & 2, stage design, directing. Studied with a private vocal coach in 1996 and am self taught as well.

Additional Skills

I am confident in my vocal skills, I am able to empathize immediately with a character and let that inflect appropriately in the tone. Years of performing live with such an eclectic set list ranging from the Stones to Evanessence has allowed me to expand my capabilites in ways that still surprise me. I have been asked to do several projects and the end product has always earned me another project! I think my passion for the voice, the spoken word, the expanse of vocal capacity I am able to stretch and learn from each time I am challenged have allowed my confidence to grow in all aspects of my voice. My main concern is to bring to fruition by using my voice, someone's idea and to go above and beyond those expectations.
