I've done narration for an online economics education project for an instructional design firm. I voiced a radio DJ and a soap opera doctor for an independent film. I was an evil genius super-villain in a book trailer demo. I was an angry cartoon banana for an online animation. I appeared on NPR reading passages from Beowulf. I've also recorded with a variety of singing groups, some of which involved spoken word performances (e.g. the Vincent Price monologue from Michael Jackson's "Thriller").
Intermediate and Advanced VO training with Taylor Korobow of The Voice Factory, San Francisco, 2004-2006. Five multi-week workshops averaging 12 hours each.
PhD in English literature, UC Berkeley
BA in English, Yale University
I've studied singing, piano, and music theory.
I have a lot of experience in a variety of choruses and a cappella groups. The latter involved solos and skits with a significant acting component.
I have a 2009 HP desktop running Windows 7 64-bit, Pro Tools LE 8.0.4, an Mbox 2, and a RØDE NT1-A mic.
I'm a highly experienced singer in a variety of styles from classical to pop, and can sing VERY LOW. I also have some experience arranging vocal music.
By day, I'm an English literature professor specializing in Shakespeare.
I have advanced writing and editing skills. I'd be happy to work on copy with you to make it clearer, punchier, funnier, you name it!
