My Voice Experience
I have been playing/experimenting with my voice ever since childhood. I've always enjoyed coming up with different characters vocally and used to create my own audio tapes as a child, utilizing my voice to create dozens of unique characters.
When I began acting on stage at the age of 15, my voice was one of my big assets and was key to creating many distinct characters (mostly in the children's theater realm).
Once I began studying the Meisner Technique at Rutgers, I was able to more fully utilize my own natural voice and not solely rely on "character" voices. This training has also greatly improved the sense of truth, ease and point-of-view in my acting, including voice work.
My Training
Studied Voice Over with Marla Kirban
Bachelor degree from U. of Minnesota at Mankato
MFA (2002) in Acting from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University (Studied with Bill Esper & Maggie Flanigan)including Voice and Speech training
