Although few and far betweem each one of the jobs I've done have special meaning to me. My first job was for Aetna/US Healthcare for radio and when I heard the ad play on my local radio station, I couldn't have felt any more euphoric! My next gig was for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund on the 50th anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court Decision. I was most proud to stand side by side with the organization's Director-Counselor and saying, "if you think the fight is over, think again!"
I also did the voiceover for a short piece in which Faye Wattleton, the former first Black president of Planned Parenthood Federation was being honored for her work. People in the room that viewed the video that day were Henry Kissenger, and Lesley Gore to name a few.
I also voiced a short video for an organization in my community that was pro-bono. It captured the reactions of people who were able to take computer software classes in order to help them improve their job-seeking skills.
I took a workshop with the incomparable Ruth Franklin. I am also a singer and performed in community theater. I currently work in communications as a consultant. I am constantly making presentations and facilitating meetings. I take pride in always being congratulated afterward. I am also a member of Toastmasters International.
