Voice Description

An established NYC producer once called me his favorite all-rounder.

That's me... I am cast as the young mom, the smooth spokesperson, that wry voice in your head, the teen with 'tude, the voice that makes your sales training sound easy and fun, I'm the screaming chick voice on the car spots that make the hair on your neck stand up... but i'm also the sexy voice with that girl-from-next-door slant. I'm pretty flexible.

In a nutshell... I've got a higher register that's slightly melodic with an inviting but REAL sound that I can morph into just about whatever you need. I've been doing vo for awhile...so believe me when I say I've done just about everything there is to do...nearly (clear throat here).

My Voice Experience

The first spot I was hired to do was for a national Consumer Reports TV ad. Since then, I’ve done commercials, narrations, characters, web sites, and telephone systems for literally hundreds of companies… national, regional and local… since 1995.

What else should you know about me? My clients find me easy to direct, an extremely quick learner, and a consistent and dependable worker. I’ve also taught voice over at the professional level.

This voice over ‘thing’ is not a hobby and I’m not a wannabe…it’s my 8+ hour per day career and I was born to do it. I have lots of regular clients who I see so frequently, they’re some of my best friends. Bottom line - you will like my work. Promise.

My Training

Though I started my adult life thinking I would use my B.S. in Mathematics to be a professor...man was I wrong.

Using only my cheesy CT School of Broadcasting certificate, in the early 90's I started working in the production department of a great 50,000 watt radio station. I wrote copy and voiced it for 6 years. My voice over career sprung from this, as clients began asking me to handle their business elsewhere. After i quit radio, I honed my craft with the feedback some of the best ears in the area... local production houses. I was one of the first vo talents in the area to have a home computer-based studio, which one of my clients built for me so I wouldn't have to trek to his studio to record. After I got accustomed to this home studio thang, I actually found myself teaching my other clients to accept mp3s via the internet... for instance, 2 local TV stations.

For a spell, I taught vo at Edge Studio in both NYC and Fairfield CT. I did this because of the idea that you get better at something when you teach it. It worked. I learned SO MUCH and found myself coaching people who were in the business longer than I! I also really figured out what it took to be good, and stay good in this industry.

These days, even though I have lots of experience I am not beyond "sharpening my saw". I have trained with top NYC and LA talent and producers, and do so regularly.
