Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I can perform in a decent British accent, Posh or Cockney, as well as your basic "Mission Impossible" brand of ambiguous origin accent: Latin-ish, Eastern European, Russian, even toss in a little Southern Hemisphere for fun.
My Voice Experience
I have done several commercial radio spots, an online tutorial for a national credit union, two character voices for an artist instructional piece. One recording was for a documentary celebrating the 25th anniversary of the World Institute on Disability (WID).
Additionally, I recorded a national spot for the Humane Society of the United States in 2011.
Narrations that I regularly book include medical and technical documentaries, interactive demonstration videos, powerpoint presentations and other corporate industrials.
In November 2010, I recorded the audio tour narration for the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor, and more recently, part of the American History tour at the Luray Valley Museum in Virginia.
My Training
In my school days, I spent much of my time in music (Choral, Madrigal, Barbershop) and musical theater as well as a short time in dramatic arts. I have been a back-up singer, amateur stand-up comedian, music promoter, audio engineer, before and while starting life as a chef/restauranteur.
In 2004, I began studying voice acting at Voicetrax in Sausalito, CA.
I have been trained by some of the most accomplished working pros in narration, character study, promos, commercials, animation, audio tours, improv, video games.
Some of my instructors include Samantha Paris, Thom Pinto, Charlie Adler, Bob Bergen, Peter Dunne, as well as booth directors and agents from DPN in L.A., Tonry in San Francisco, and others.
I am currently signed with Stars, The Agency, in San Francisco, CA, and am currently not union affiliated.
My Studio Equipment
When booked by Stars, I record in any of several Bay Area studios, per the client.
I record auditions from my home studio using a MacBook Pro; Amadeus is my audio program.
I use a Neumann M147 tube mic with an M-audio digital interface and Langevin DVC pre-amp.
I can edit and finish my recordings (without music or sfx) and send in MP3, WAV or AIFF format.
Additional Skills
The years spent in music have definitely been an asset to doing voiceover. I have good mic skills, am comfortable performing (in fact, I love it like crazy). I have a good ear and decent editing skills.
From my chef days, I can assemble the right balance of ingredients to create the voice and character for any voice acting job.
Voiceover is the career I have wanted my entire life. It just took a while to realize it!
