Voice Description

I have a resonant baritone which I can use to express a variety of characters and emotions, as well as a humorous falsetto. My voice is good for anger, humor, sarcasm and silliness.

I am pretty fluent in Mandarin (it's along story) and French, with some Italian and German. My pronunciation of Mandarin has been described as very good. I can also do a German, French, inauthentic British, southern,Italian broken English and a wide range of indescribable accents, possible from extraterrestrial souces.

My Voice Experience

For 12 years I produced and hosted radio programs on WBAI in New York, and a good deal of that time was also staff and later chief announcer. During that period, I hosted what may have been the only avant-garde music call-in program in existence. I did many, many PSA's and promos at the station, and later in my other career as computer guru have been called upon by my employers to do voice-overs for their presentations and PSA's.

My Training

My training came mostly from my interest in acting on the stage in my younger years. I learned to project and to add character, age, etc. The 12 years on the radio, of course, were invaluable. I have also taken a monologue course in the last few years at HB studios.

I am also a composer of "classical" music with almost 300 works in my catalog for anything from solo piccolo to large symphony orchestra. My pieces have been played through out the US and in Europe, Russia and Australia.

Platform speaking is something I enjoy very much, since I am talkative and inquisitive by nature; teaching and/or training are very comfortable for me.

I have a good deal of writing experience as well, having worked for a couple of weekly papers in New York City and written free-lance articles and reviews on music and theater.

Oh, and I am something of a computer whiz (so I am told) and can do digital sound editing and music scoring.
