Graduate of Such A Voice Master Class.
Others triggered Jims interest in Voice Over artistry. As a trial attorney, some of the cases and issues he handled attracted media attention, including radio and television interviews in the sixth largest city in the United States. Some commented, You sounded better than the professionals. Jim tucked those remarks away and eventually decided to explore voice over training. He has been well received in the industry.
A graduate of Stanford Law School where he was on the Law Review, Jim received a Naval Unit Commendation for military service during Viet Nam, and handled complex civil trials after his return to San Diego.
On the lighter (or unique) side, he walked across his home state of North Dakota in winter 1995, facing windchill temps to -65F and unrelenting winds. He was featured on the pages of the newspaper he delivered growing up in Fargo.
Jim has for several years taught in law schools and business schools and pursued other creative and business endeavors. Active in civic affairs, he is a member of various committees and organizations, and created a family foundation that awards scholarships to needy students.
Jim wrote a book for husbands based on his familys experience in fighting breast cancer and, as he says, is putting (his) daydreams to work by writing screenplays (seven completed, none sold -- so far). He has also authored numerous other articles relating to the legal profession.
