Voice Description

My voice is normally a bit lower for a woman, which allows me to also speak deep enough to sound like a male if needed. My voice is very smooth and soothing, perfect for singing or readings. Fun and sexy for either commercials or adult voice overs. It can also take on a very professional, yet attention-grabbing tone for presentations or material that might be a little less exciting on paper. My biggest aspiration, however, would be anything musical.

My Voice Experience

This is my first experience with voice over work. I have been singing my whole life, whether through church or talent shows or school chorus. I have taken voice lessons and have recorded a few songs on the new Myspace Karaoke. When I was a bit younger, my family recorded a religious musical CD in a professional studio. As for readings, I am a mother of 3 children and have spent 8 years reading stories or teaching lessons. My voice is very soothing and warm!

My Training

In High School, I was in the chorus and was urged by my director to perform for the school variety show, singing a solo. I also competed for the state choir. I attended Brigham Young University from 1997-1999 and took voice lessons for which I recieved highest marks. I also took voice lessons as a child which have always helped.

Additional Skills

Besides having had vocal training and having an immense love of music and singing, I am also a writer. While attending Brigham Young University, I was in the process of changing my major to an English/writing major as I felt it allowed me to stretch my creative muscles. I love to write poetry and have occasionally written song lyrics and short adult stories. I have always felt that being a writer, I have a wonderful imagination and that allows my emotion to come out in my voice, whether speaking or singing. This is important if you want any song, commercial or reading to be believable and relatable!
