Voice Description

Being from Georgia, I have a nice southern accent. It is not twangy, or to country sounding, just simply southern! I move all over the country now because my husband is in the Navy, and wherever I go people comment that they love my southern accent! "Y'all" is part of my everday vocabulary :-) I am also a Speech Language Pathologist, and therefore understand that the suttle differences in a southern dialect are due to vowel production. Southerners do tend to draw out that vowel a little bit more than the average person!! But, if the accent is not to strong, it can be very pleasing to the ear!!

I am the wife of a Navy Seal, and a mother of two boys. My profession is Speech Language Pathology, but am currently not working because we just relocated to Hawaii. I lived in the South for 30 years before I began moving around with my husband's career. Because I have lived in many other parts of the country, I constantly have to tell people where I am from when they hear me speak. Everyone seems to like the Southern accent, and notices it right away. Sometimes I can only say one word and I get asked where I am from. I have worked with many different dialects as an SLP, and also have an understanding of how sounds are produced. Therefore, I think I would be a good candidate if you are looking for someone with a Southern/Country accent.
