Voice Description

I am a voice over talent that has trained and directed voice talent for 20 years. I have performed "real people" situation characters for more than 100 different products and services. I have recorded an audiobook. My voice is sincere and "guy-next-doorish". I can do witty comedy and have great timing. Because I have written radio commercials for 20 years, I'm aware of the "real people" nuances that make a performance believable, real. Even when I'm directing talent, I have often needed to perform the scene for announcers and actors exactly the way I envisioned them when I wrote the spot. I can do serious, heartfelt voiceovers. I can do announcer reads with an earnest, honest feel. I can perform scripts in English, in Spanish and in a very believable and seamless bilingual. My voice is not boomy annnouncer, it's down-to-earth and approaching. Imagine a dad trying to tell you about his problems or a friend trying to express a meaningful moment.

I am a master at the Tejano dialect of the Latino spectrum. I am Mexican-American and can code switch with the right timing and with a keen sense of what meter is required to make audiences sense that the delivery is genuine, not pseudo-Latino posing.

My Voice Experience

In Spanish, in English, in the middle, bilingual, I have delivered convincing performances that have moved audiences to make decisions, buy, take actions, change a behavior or remember a brand forever. I have coached hundreds of voice-over talent as well. I have coached and performed parts in audiobooks and audio fables. Because I have also written copy in English and Spanish for 20 years, I have deep experience in the pacing and pausing that makes radio magical and memorable. I also own a studio that allows me to turn-key a recording project. I have a top of the line AKG microphone and a Focusrite ISA 220 Mic Preamp to enrich my sound and performance. Capturing the audio is Pro-Tools, the standard in recording audio.

My Training

Besides training voice over talent for 20 years, I have also coached singers for commercial music production. I am guitar player and music producer as well. Several of my commercial music productions have run nationally and internationally. For Coca Cola alone, I have produced several national commercials.

My Studio Equipment

Pro Tools on a Mac... A Whisper Room Sound isolation unit that measures 5x5 feet. An AKG C414 B-XL II 5-Pattern Condenser Microphone that is routed through a Focusrite ISA 220 Pre Amp. I have Source Connect and the equipment is regularly used for commercials. We monitor on Dynaudio BM 6A mk II Speakers. We compose on Soudtrack and on Logic too when producing music. I also have a producer that works with me who went to the Berklee of Music in Boston. He is a masterful composer and wonderful piano player. We are producing exercise music. I am also a guitar player that can play middle of the road chord music and reflective New Agey type picking for background music purposes.

Because of my English/Spanish abilities, I am able to voice over or interpret Spanish performances into English.
