My Voice Experience
I grew up in a recording studio. My father is a professional composer in the Boston area (www.kusiakmusic.com) and I am very comfortable in the booth. I have a highly developed ear and professional singing voice. I started my voiceover career as a "bratty preteen" in a commercial for Grillbasa (a doomed hot-dog-kielbasa product). Over the years I have provided voice talent and songs for televised Public Service Announcements, commercial demos (Quaker Oats, Reebok), children's videos (KidVidz), museum installations (Concord Museum, Mount St. Helens), and documentaries (Harvard Institute for International Development BRIDGES Project, Roots of Health). I own a live music venue in Seattle and would like to get back into the voiceover industry to supplement my income. I am easy to work with, focused, versatile, and quick. I learn songs very quickly and have a good range (alto, mezzo-soprano, soprano). Stylistically I am best suited to rock, pop, blues, old R&B (not contemporary), folk, or alt-country.
My Training
I started theater classes at age 10 at the Boston Children's Theater, attended Cambridge Rindge & Latin High where I studied acting all four years, and studied acting and voice (opera, showtunes, blues) at Sarah Lawrence College in New York (B.A.). I taught myself guitar and started a rock band after moving to Seattle, played most major venues and self-released a CD in 2001 (Hypermobile, Ripley, at Amazon.com), which was recorded at Hanszek Audio and Studio Litho.
My Studio Equipment
I do not have my own studio.
