My Voice Experience

It has taken a while for me to come full circle to a childhood love -- reading aloud and public speaking. I am glad to be back at it. It is where I belong.

Professionally I am a resume writer, editor, and trainer. In my free time, I am a podcaster presenter. I read articles for the weekly podcast, Metamorphosis, and have recently begun recording the visualization portion of the BrainReady.com podcast.

My public speaking and recording experience goes back 20 years -- in high school, I was the European winner of the VFW Voice of Democracy Oratorical Contest (one of 52 world-wide winners).

In graduate school, I recorded the events schedule message for the Student Activities office listing the movie schedule.

As a career consultant, I have presented numerous job search training sessions to college students and alumni, private and federal professionals, and downsized clients. I have successfully created and run three interview training programs -- coaching others how to effectively present themselves verbally (and non-verbally) to increase their chances of being extended a job offer. I have offered classroom training and web seminars to large and small groups. I have a MEd from Virginia Tech in College Student Personnel Administration.

I am also a mother of two young boys and have spent the past eight years reading aloud to them fiction and non-fiction, and they never tire of my reading. In community groups, members enjoy my reading when opportunities to read aloud, or to present topics, arise. They have commented that I have "a voice we like to listen to," "I look forward to when you will be reading," "your inflection is great and your voice is so pleasant."

I take my narration and voice over assignments seriously and will perform top-notch work. I would be an excellent choice for your next project.

Additional Skills

For more than 15 years I have been speaking publicly, coaching, and training. I am a successful trainer and believe my ability to speak well in front of others and communicate a particular message goes well beyond the classroom. Whenever I speak publicly, I receive positive feedback and praise. I have been well-received on the podcasts I present, and believe I am a top-notch voice over professional.

I am interested in narrating stories, presenting articles, reading non-fiction books on tape, and performing podcasts. You will not be disappointed.
