Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
British, French, Spanish, German, Israeli, New York, Southern, Elderly (the older the better), gay (the more flaming the better), baby crying, do a great Beavis, and my regular speaking voice sounds exactly like Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins.
My Voice Experience
I've been doing voices since I was in high school when my friends and I would make prank phone calls for fun. My first big "job" was when I called the Dr. Ruth Westheimer radio show pretending to be a 72 year old woman (she was so excited to talk to me she reprinted our entire conversation in her first book, and she also spoke about it on David Letterman). I've done character voices for several animation projects, and I've also done some voice work on small independent films.
My Training
I have a Bachelors and a Masters degree from Brown University. I've studied acting with several great teachers over the years, including Howard Fine, Uta Hagen, and Tracy Roberts. My voiceover talent has not been taught, but simply learned through experience. Doing character voices is just something I've done naturally ever since I was a child.
My Studio Equipment
I use a Sterling Audio microphone for recording and an Audiobox mixer to feed into my computer.
Additional Skills
Since I do a variety of voices, I can often do several different voices for a given project which will sound like different people. It's much easier to have me do it than to hire many different actors for the project. I also sing (baritone), and am the season 3 winner of the Idol Search competition on youtube.
