I can do British, including lower class and Royalty, Southern dialects i.e. Georgia, Texas, south of the U.S. border accents, French accent, Australian, African slave accent, cartoon characters such as the Moose from "Rocky" and Roger Rabbit, famous actors and comedians i.e. Jerry Lewis, Sling-blade (Billy Bob Thornton), Hillbilly type voices i.e. "Ignorant West Virginian Voice", singing voices-I can impersonate James Taylor and Paul Simon accurately. I love to write jingles for commercials.
My Voice Experience
I have recorded speaking and singing voice on over twenty occasions in eight different recording studios in Northern and Southern California.
I have performed speaking commercials from a variety of products including Cereals, Hair Dryers, pizza and dog food. I have auditioned for singing and guitar engagement at a Las Vegas casino, and have performed live at Weddings, Birthdays, Wine tastings and Holidays.
I have done over 75 live speaking engagements on many topics including health care, and technical topics in front of as many as 500 people.
My Training
I have an AS and an AA degree from Moorpark College in Southern California.
I have a B.S. from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, Ca. and a D.C. (Doctor of Chiropractic) degree which I obtained in 1984.
An intense interest in voices became readily apparent early in my childhood, as I mimicked many dialects that I heard on TV and on the street.
My experience in front of a microphone began when I was about 13 years old. I performed in a rock band live in front of 500 people when I was only 15 years old, and played dozens of dates at private parties, clubs and schools.
My attention was diverted away from voice work as I became very busy in practice, but I continued to receive complements on my voice and requests from friends, coworkers and family to do voice work for them.
I took a voice over class in Sacramento in 2003 and received rave reviews from classmates and my instructor.
My Studio Equipment
I have easy access to two studios owned by friends as well as four other studios that I have utilize in the past for both music and voice recording.
I do not intend to to become an audio engineer or maintain expensive recording equipment for other than live presentation.
For live use I utilize a Mackie Board which is running powered SRM 450-2 Monitors on easy Lock stands. I sometimes use a TC Helicon Voice Processor for effects including reverb delay and harmony. I play accoustic guitar usually through this but sometimes use a Gibson 347 through a clean fat tone jazz-like amp.
I have a library of jingles and riffs for use in advertising and commercial applications.
Additional Skills
I have worked in a variety of fields in my life. As noted previously, I have performed live in singing and speaking, have played and taught guitar for forty years.
I have worked in hardware stores and nurseries for 10 years and have extensive experience and knowledge in home improvement and gardening.
I have a vast amount of experience in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, toxicology, embryology, x-ray physics and interpretation and related subjects and would be an excellent candidate for narration related to these fields.
I am mature and considerate of the tremendous time effort and money associated with production of TV, film and recordings and radio, and would make an excellent addition to your project team!
