Voice Description
I have been described as having a natural "Radio voice." I can deepen my voice to sound more ominous (I have an excellent "evil laugh") or raise it to sound innocent or ingenuous. I am patient when performing by voice work in order to get the exact inflection I am looking for, but am also willing to take direction when a client is looking for something specific. I naturally speak in the key of D and my voice has been described as relaxing and calming.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I have experience with British, Canadian, and southern (both natural and melodramatic) accents. I can also do an Ebonics accent and dialect. My natural accent is subtly Northeast American, called a Michigan accent. I can also sound like an old cigarette smoker or a young teenage male. I also have several "cartoony" voices, including an impersonation of the Disney Character Stitch.
My Voice Experience
I have done 11 radio ads for various companies and organizations including Family Life Radio. I have provided voice over work for media presentations for my local church. I am also active in my local community theater, including musicals, and have done drama since age 12.
My Training
I trained under Bill DeWees at Olivet Nazarene University's Communications dept. for a semester before becoming discouraged with breaking into the radio industry (I was interested in DJing back then) and kicked it to the back burner for a few years. I was approached a few years back to record a radio ad for my local church and I took the opportunity to try it again. I enjoyed it. I have attended acting seminars and have been self taught thus far, but am always looking to learn more formally or otherwise. You NEVER stop learning!
My Studio Equipment
My recording area is set up in my house. I use Audacity software for all of my sound mixing and recording.
Additional Skills
I am very easy to work with and have no problem taking direction if someone is looking for something specific on a project. I am also punctual and don't regard deadlines as something that happens to other people. I complete my projects in a timely manner and put a piece of myself in all of my work. It is a job and a hobby but it is also personal and I care about every job I do.
