My Voice Experience
I am new to doing voice overs. However, I have been doing impersonations from since I can remember. I am quite sensitive to peoples' eccentricities in terms of physical and speech characteristics. A good number of impersonations I am able to do would not mean much to people outside of my social group as they are of individuals who are in contact with me daily. Nonetheless, I generally can pick up a character from commercials, movies and any other media source that supports repetitive consumption.
If you require a style that is not listed in my profile, please indicate what you would like, perhaps by the person's name and specific show, movie, speech, etc. that they performed. I will review the material quickly and would be happy to present a demonstration for your review.
My Training
My past has been quite varied. I started stage acting in church when I was seven or eight years old and continued to take drama lessons throughout my adolescence. Some of the production I was involved in were musicals and often sing at church and with my family at karaoke.
My professional speaking experience includes conducting training/coaching seminars for over seven years, giving formal/informal speeches at events and conducting role plays with trainees during initial sales training. I currently do voice overs for a large series of technical and sales training videos that I am producing for my employer.
My Studio Equipment
I do not claim to be the best audio engineer. I am running a Mac with GarageBand and tend to tweak recordings through that. That said, I am open to using other software and catch on easily to new interfaces, etc.
Additional Skills
I complete whatever task is assigned me. If the requirement is beyond my capabilities, I let my client know straight away before any time is wasted.
My professional background so far has exposed me to a wide variety of languages, accents, customs and cultures. From my position as an English teacher, trainer, bartender and recruiter, every role I have been in has involved multinational members.
I have lived in Japan since 1994 and on mre than one occasion have traveled in and around Hong Kong, Thailand, Korea, UAE, Philippines, Australia, Guam, Singapore and Malaysia. Before coming to Japan my childhood was spent in Southern California with frequent trips to my grandmother's second home in Mexico and to various friends' homes in Canada (mostly the BC area).
