My Voice Experience
I'm looking forward to expand and combine my experience in marketing and creative performance in the field of voice work. I've been making sounds with my mouth ever since I was young, beginning as a three-year old, as my mother was vacuuming the music store they owned - I persistently interrupted her by saying "An "A" mommy" she finally caught on, and sure enough, the piano nearby confirmed the vacuum had the pitch of an "A".
While I can't claim perfect pitch nowadays, I have been singing and talking constantly since then. I have over a dozen years experience playing bass and guitar, and five years contributing my voice to various musical groups (including A capella). I also play the shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) which is one of the hardest instruments to play and get the right pitch.
The bottom line? whether quirky or fun, warm or convincing, I can contribute the voice with the delivery, expression, and timing you want, with the marketing savvy and the technical expertise you need.
My Training
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from University of Montana, graduating in 2001, with a second language focus in Japanese. Please see below for a concise explanation of my previous experience.
My Studio Equipment
- Shure KSM 44
- G5 Tower running ProTools
- Mackie Micro Series 1202-VLZ
Additional Skills
For over three years I have been involved in filmmaking with two companies; Safehouse Films, L.L.C. and Stories Growing Studios, and been involved at the ground level in both, contributing to marketing, business development, and producing. We are in post production for our latest short film "Art Therapy" - the first fictional film of any genre that features art and expressive therapy.
As the producer, I have managed all stages of the project, from casting, to production, and post-production, with over 30 people involved in a variety of roles in the project thus far.
Filmmaking builds on the creative, marketing, and technical experience that I've previously gained in over ten years of web development experience, and project management.
I majored in Spanish at the University of Montana, and for the past three years, also leveraged my language, interpersonal, and technical skills as a Faculty Liaison for the Center for Language Study, at Yale University.
As an account manager for three-dozen language faculty over eight departments, I've helped language teachers use technology to teach language. I am familiar with linguistics and applied phonology (the production of sounds) as well as project management for various material and media projects, helping instructors better understand their target market (students) as we as including utilizing, and training people on audio and video editing.
