My Voice Experience
I landed a United Airlines national commercial for their "We Are United" ad campaign. They aired on radio and television for nearly a year. I learned a great deal working with director Errol Morris and agency Fallon.
My Training
I received my BA in Theatre & Drama from Indiana University. While working toward my degree, I took classes in stagecraft, lighting design, costume design, directing, acting and writing. I worked on the lighting crew at the Indiana University Auditorium and IU's opera house: the Musical Arts Center.
At IU, we were taught how to speak in several different dialects. We had to perform a monologue per week in each dialect. It was challenging and so much fun!
We also learned how to communicate with our voices instead of using body language. At times, we were to perform to an audience with their backs to us - forcing us to be articulate and emotional.
I worked in phone reservations for United Airlines for five years. This taught me a great deal about how to mold my tone of voice and level of comfort and professionalism to the personality of the caller.
I worked in Customer Service for The Container Store for 5 1/2 years. They called me their "personal bubble machine." I was constantly called upon to perform skits at company meetings, do the closing announcements and demonstrate product installation to customers.
At The Container Store, I was also chosen to phone-screen possible job candidates and invite them to group interviews which I conducted. I read from a script to a group of strangers every week and enticed them to continue their journey with TCS.

Additional Skills
I was an Extra for Public Enemies, filmed in Chicago last year. Two overnight shifts, hours of hair and make-up and a handshake from Johnny Depp. Couldn't ask for much more.
I did competitive gymnastics for 14 years. I still go to the gym once a week and do my old routines.
I tap-danced and clogged for 14 years. My group won may contests and was even featured in a news segment that documented our performance at the Indiana State Fair.
I worked as the lighting designer for the #1 dance club at IU.
I worked in Customer Service for 16 years. It allowed me to slip into different characters every day of my life. I was professional to the businessmen. I was empathetic to the homemakers. I was sympathetic to the grieving.
My spare time is now spent singing along to the iPod with my daughter.
