Voice Description

My normal speaking voice is soft, energetic and pleasing, with good diction that is well suited to narration and phonelines. Speaking in an alluring voice that is sexy without falling into the 900-number trap is no trouble--though, I can do the 900-number bit too. I really enjoy doing voices that are cute and innocent, like children, cartoon animals and older girls. I also enjoy creating new voices, laughs and sounds, and exploring a wide range of intonation. And don't let my location fool you. While I can do a perfect southern accent, my natural voice is drawl-free.

My Voice Experience

While I haven't had any professional experience in the voice acting field, I have had amateur experience in multiple stage plays (musicals and straight plays in high school and university), book readings for youth groups and preschool children, and employment in a call center, where a soothing, sincere voice was necessary to calm callers.

My Training

Over the past six years, I have taken acting courses and a voice performance course at a local community college and at East Carolina University, and was accepted by audition in 2001 into the East Carolina University Chamber Choir where I was given training and voice lessons for a semester.

Additional Skills

I have a great interest in the arts, and as a hobby I draw new characters and create personalities, stories and voices for them. I'm certainly not an amazing sketch artist, but I love it. I'm also a student in advertising and graphic design, so commercial work, whether visual or vocal, has always appealed to me. I'm an enthusiastic worker and I love a good challenge!
