Voice Description

I am the perfect candidate for voice over work. I am also an actress and I have a distinctive voice. I have quite the vocal range. My voice is naturally deep and even so I'd be perfect for narrations. I can also raise the octave a bit and sound very sexy. I think I'd be a good candidate for either voicemail greetings or on-hold messages. I do a NY accent, a California girl accent as well as a southern accent. I've lived in all three places so I was surrounded by the regional dialect constantly. I can also do a South Boston accent/dialect as well as a proper British accent and a cockney British accent.

My Voice Experience

This is something that I'm just getting into, professionally. At Monmouth one of my friends was a DJ at the radio station and on Tuesday nights I would sit in with him and appear on the show as sort of a guest DJ.
I'm a local star at karaoke night. People even yell out requests. I cover a broad range of artists from Janice Joplin to Cher to Billy Joel. I would be a great on-screen voice actor for any number of infomercials. I say this because they're the only shows my mother watches, so they're always on. She always says that I should look into getting a job like that and so she's constantly pointing out to me how the women hold the item, how they position themselves, how they repeat the brand name over and over, etc.

My Training

I was a journalism major at Monmouth University in West LongBranch, NJ, theatre was my minor. I took many voice and diction classes during my time there. I'm also a regular at karaoke night.

I'd also be excellent at reading books on tape. I was a kindergarten teacher and read numerous books to the kids every day. I constantly had to come up with distinct voices for each of the characters in the book, remember which voice went with which character and be consistent.
