Voice Description

I have a smooth, meditative voice which can be low and sultry, balanced and informative, or even high-pitched and truncated. I have a great ear for dialogue and am usually able to replicate and affect accents with minimal effort. As a medical researcher and presenter, I cultivated an extremely professional and intelligent manner of speaking. In addition, I'm an avid reader and enjoy assuming various voices based on character background and physicality. The warmth of my voice would be particularly well-matched for book narrations.

My Voice Experience

I've led people on retreats through meditations and knocked out more than a few with a smooth, soothing voice. In the past six months, I've read all 7 Harry Potter books - a feat in and of itself - out loud to my daughters, creating different voices for the myriad character roster. As a manager at an upscale thinktank, I presented to everyone from new employees to board members in groups of three to sixty-three, and regarding numerous intellectual disciplines, some exceptional dry. In these situations I would vary slightly my volume and intensity to keep them engaged and interested... or, at least, awake.

My Training

Like everyone, I was the belle of the ball in my high school theatre group, acquiring speech lessons where I could, voice lessons when necessary, and awards at state competitions.

I have a BS in Biology, years of clinical research work, an aptitude for literature, and experience as an editor of medical briefs and fiction-based novels.
