My Training

Jeff Mulvihill
Currently Jeff lives in Nashville TN where he enjoys a variety of musical experiences by maintaining an active freelance drumming and percussion schedule, performing as principal percussionist of the Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra, and providing the drumming and background vocals for the modern country band WideRange and the Dennis Shepherd Group. An eclectic performer, Jeff works in a wide variety of musical situations from acoustic songwriter’s nights, to progressive rock clubs, to the symphony orchestra hall, to the country honky tonk. In addition to drums and percussion, Mulvihill has emerged as a talented voice-over specialist, co-writing and producing commercial advertising audio for businesses in need of telephone hold music, or radio jingles.
A versatile musician, Jeff has enjoyed recent performances with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Aretha Franklin, the internationally acclaimed quintet Rhythm and Brass showcase performances for BMI, SESAC, Sony Music, and RCA records as well as live and studio performances with WideRange, Clay Underwood and Amber Hayes.
In addition to performing professionally, Jeff has presented percussion masterclasses at the University of Tennessee, Tennessee Music Educators, Minnesota Music Educators, and Texas Bandmasters Conventions. For seven years, Jeff served as the Assistant Marketing Manager for Marching/Concert Percussion and Customer Service for Pearl Drums and Adams Musical Instruments. Publications include contributions to the Pearl Total Percussion CD Rom and “Fanfare for Percussion Quartet” by Curving Walkway Publications.
Jeff Mulvihill received the Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from The University of Tennessee graduating with honors while performing extensively throughout the southeast including performances with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, Kingsport Symphony Orchestra, Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra, Music Manshion Theater, and the nightclub and studio scene. Jeff then went on to receive the Master of Arts in Music Performance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he served as graduate percussion assistant. During this time he performed and recorded with the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra, The Keystone Wind Ensemble, Johnstown Symphony Orchestra, Butler Symphony Orchestra and was a guest soloist at the 1999 Pennsylvania Percussive Arts Society Day of Percussion.
