My Voice Experience
I've held many jobs announcing from sporting events to parades all throughout high school and then on even more so in college. Nothing recorded, though. At college, I was always the go-to guy to be the master of ceremonies for large gatherings, building dedications, distinguished-graduate ceremonies, and the military dress parades. As well, I did the announcements at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium for the football games. This also got me a chance to do that at the Emerald Bowl in San Francisco when Navy won a chance to play there.
As a part of these jobs, I learned to be flexible and quick-witted amidst the challenges that go along with any production. One time, for our annual distinguished graduate ceremony, the equipment suddenly quit mid show before the arena-filled audience. Rather than look sheepish and wait for it to get fixed, I stepped up and loudly carried on the show. I remember many people were very impressed.
My Training
I have a bachelors of science in political science from the U.S. Naval Academy. I learned about voice over and speech thru high school classes and college job opportunities - on-the-job training.
My Studio Equipment
To be honest, my expertise does not extend into sound engineering other than knowing what to do when it breaks mid-show before several thousand people and you're the Master of ceremonies... you have to be commanding and extra loud - and a little humor works too!
Additional Skills
I am currently proud to be serving in the Navy. I am based out of San Diego and will be here for the next several years.
