My Voice Experience

Since applying for a part-time radio announcer job on a dare in 1987, I have been involved in using my voice to entertain listeners, sell products for advertisers and describe company products, training methods, describe reasons to visit a particular town and more.
I thoroughly enjoy the voice over field. The field allows me a creative outlet.
As I said, I began my work in radio on a dare. I never believed I could do this type of work and was actually trying to prove others who said I could, wrong. I guess I was the one who was wrong, because I have done hundreds of voice over jobs since then in addition to actually working as a radio news director and production director.
I have done corporate narrations for videos selling a company's new products, I voiced a sales video for Technicolor Universal Media Services, a law enforcement training video, tourism video for the city of Mt. Vernon, Illinois along with hundreds of 30 and 60 second radio spots.

My Training

In addition to my voice over career, I have performed for the past five years with a community theater group in Sparta, Illinois.
For the past 18 years I have performed with the Madrigal Society of Southern Illinois, a community based Madrigal performance group.
I have sang with various amateur and semi-professional vocal groups.
These experiences have given me experience and creating characters using vocal expressions, accents and levels.

My Studio Equipment

The recording program I currently use is Audacity in a Windows Vista OS. I use a studio quality condenser microphone with pop-filter. I connect to my computer through a tube preamp with USB connectivity.

Additional Skills

My current occupation as a newspaper writer has given me additional writing skills that I have been able to apply to copywriting services for clients.
