Voice Description
Very similar to Stockard Channing; Deep, clear, feminine, resonating. I can make my voice soft and light for announcements and telephone recordings, voicemail greetings, messages and announcements, commercials and/or business presentations. I read clearly and smoothly for audio book recordings. I can do Southern accents with varied dialects, Bostonian and some New York and British accents. I have enough variety for many voice-over requirements.

My Voice Experience
My voice turned very deep when I reached puberty. I was required to do announcements for a retail stores (J. M. Fields and Edwards Department Stores in Charleston, SC) where I was working. People repeatedly stopped to listen and then some commented that they could not believe that voice came out of me. I continually read out loud as people love to listen to my voice.
My Training
Though I have no formal training, I have had numerous people tell me that I should be doing voice overs or voice acting. I have done some acting in high school and have sung in a choir. My voice caught the organist's attention and I was asked to sing a solo. Unfortunately it didn't work out because I cannot read music. KGMB Television asked me to do a commercial for them in my youth, but I never followed through as my practical side took over and I was more concerned with "earning a living". I still have their business card, somewhere. Now it is time to give it a go.

Additional Skills
I love to perform and to speak in public and to do training. I have worked in the accounting and the retail field for most of my life. I know how important it is to capture a computer or telephone user's attention so that his or her attention does not waver. I know how important it is to have a telephone voicemail greeting or menu to which the caller will actually listen intently. If the recording is monotonous, the caller may be "lulled to sleep" so that the caller has to repeat the recording. I know that it of utmost importance to speak clearly.
