Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I do a spot on Barney or Bullwinkle the Moose, or a terrific mad scientist, or cheesy superhero. I can do a great British or French accent, and I can also do a wonderful white girl rapping pathetically, characterization. Old men and women are a piece of cake for me.

Jewish characters are a strong suit, as well as a checked out hippie. If you want a fun loving 41 year old woman's voice, I can do that brilliantly, because I am one.

My Voice Experience

I will be honest, the only technical "professional" experience I've ever had, was impersonating Ethel Merman for a radio promo. It was years ago (late 80's), done in a Bellevue, Wa. station, KLSY. I performed a ditty about the Seattle Seahawks as Ethel, sung to the tune of "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus." I doubt any recording of that still exists, but the producer was happy with it, and it actually aired.

When Verizon first started offering their customer service online, I was one of the first people to try it, and they came and filmed a segment at my apartment for an in house training video. I had to pretend like I was talking to "a friend", I was seriously believable in that, I mean when I held my phone, I was really emoting.

I also did some background vocals for my friend Mollie Ziegler's cd "Seeker" in July 2009.

The most entertaining work I do however, is reading aloud to my kids. Their favorite is "The Cricket in Times Square" for which I developed some fun voices for the main characters. Chester, Harry the Cat, and Tucker the mouse. Hey, you have to start somewhere, right?

My Training

I have been involved with music as a vocalist since I was 12, and have performed in front of crowds big and small worldwide. I still sing regularly, and help lead worship at my church.

I played the main character in the musical "Something Higher" written by Jeff Kennedy with some songs by Gloria Gaither. This required me to do a monologue of just under ten minutes, followed by the finale which I sang with a trusty youth choir to back me up. It was great, there was dry ice and coreography! Very 80's.

Oh, and I was Yente the Matchmaker in "Fiddler on the Roof", granted it was a high school production, but it was quality, come on!

I don't have any professional training, but then again Bill Gates never graduated from college.

My Studio Equipment

I have an engineer husband, a digital recorder, and Cubase. Yes, that's it. Well, and I have a friend who actually owns a local studio which I could record in.

Additional Skills

I would like the opportunity to serve any client, or artist with a need. I enjoy speaking, reading, and relating to people. There is no substitute for the human voice! I look forward to gaining experience, and learning hands on about the industry, when afforded a chance. Thanks for your consideration.
