My Voice Experience
Began career writing advertising copy for a classical music radio station in 1995, performed commercial voiceover as well. Attended Radio and Television broadcast school in 1997, received certificate. Board op work for approximately one year following with occasional on-air intros and outros for weather and sports programming. Moved into writing copy and hosting a live Saturday morning news program scheduled around syndicated shows. Looking forward to putting my feet...er, voice back in after a few years away. Always doing funny voices for children, co-workers and friends and doing improvisation when the occasion calls for it.
My Training
Speech and Communications major in college for approximately two years, no degree. Attended and completed Radio and Television school; certificate. Trained in radio station to do all work from answering listener questions to writing ad copy, production and board-oping. Have worked with both analog and digital recording equipment.
My Studio Equipment
Don't have any of my own equipment at present, have always run others' boards and audio equipment. Not much of an audio engineer, although I have done this work before. A quick learner, though.
Additional Skills
Have worked in so many different fields, including customer service, accounting, sales and marketing, even pizza delivery. If it's a way to make a living and it's moral, I've probably done it. OK, so I don't fly airplanes or drive race cars, -- but most of the things that I have done are supportive of work related to broadcasting.
