Voice Description
I was born in Cartagena, Colombia, sixty years ago. My parents moved to New York State in the 1950's, and I did most of my school, military service, and 18 years as graphic designer until 1983, when I returned to Colombia. I lived in Colombia for 17 years, got married, had a daughter, and decided, with my wife, to return to the States, which we did in 1999. We've been living and working in Idaho since then.

My Voice Experience
The tone of my voice has always been something people have commented about, although I've never really done anything about it (commercially, that is). I did some voiceovers for radio spots on a volunteer basis, I had a one-sentence speaking part in a commercial movie ("The Mission," 1986, filmed in my native Cartagena, Colombia, where I said, "Sensitive? They kill their own children!" I also hosted a 90 minute weekly program with Radio Maria, in Bogota, Colombia.
My Training
Anything and everything that I've done with my voice has been self-motivated, self-taught, on an amateur level, on a volunteer basis. I would probably appreciate getting some professional feedback on the use of my voice, but that hasn't happened, so, if there is anything there, it continues to be unexploited.

Additional Skills
I am (and have been for the past 29 years) a language teacher, a certified translator / interpreter (this latter part of my profession as a simultaneous as well as consecutive and "whisper" interpreter). I have had staff jobs with World Vision International (as Translations Unit Coordinator in Colombia), British Petroleum Exploration (as translator / Interpreter for Projects Department), and LanguageLine Services (as over-the-phone interpreter from home). I have also worked as an independent phone interpreter for Teleinterpreters for the past 6 years, since arriving in Idaho. Have also done courtroom interpretation for two judicial districts in Idaho. My resume is mostly on translations, with an emphasis on the oral (Interpretation).
