Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I can alter to the usual accents, Irish, Scottish, British, Australian, French (in English), Polish/Russian/Slovakian (in English), I can alter to other types such as thriller/movie trailer, feminine male/transexual/humorous homosexual (not in any insulting way), "nerdy" (not in any insulting way), cowboy/redneck/southern gentleman, "stoner"/"pothead", body builder, drunkard, serious, hero, old time radio speaker, pirate, specific cartoon characters, I can make up character voices with a description of the character, I can do smooth and professional, sexy and fun, and with a good description, I am willing to try anything to see if it will work.
My Voice Experience
Well, I have never actually done voice over work. I guess you could consider how we produced my friend's band's last album as voice over work. The whole album was like listening to a morning show giving an interview to the guys in the band. I was the host, my wife was the co-host, a few of our other friends were other members of our goofy gang, and my best friend and his band mates were themselves. We would make a segment, play a song or two, throw a couple of prank unrealistic, humorous commercials in there, and voila it turned out pretty good. We were'nt really going extremely proffesional with it, you know, it was mainly for fun, but I think it turned out very well for "voice over" work. I have been repeating commercials since I was a kid, having gotten in trouble countless times for annoying my parents. I am always the guy that everyone is like "Oh do this one!"
My Training
My education exceeds nothing more than a high school diploma, general studies. *que sad violin* I would love to go to college for pro tools certification, but funds are lacking. Hopefully Voice 123 along with any prospectful clientel may help that dream come true.
My Studio Equipment
I have a Dell Inspiron 530S with a very nice sound system, I have an M-Audio preamp/interface, an MXL 990 condenser microphone, an MXL 991 instrument condenser microphone, I use Fruity Loops v.7 (soon to be upgraded to v.8), Sonar v.7, the Adobe recording program, and a wooden desk that my Grandfather made that my wife restained. Doesn't sound like much, but I can make it all work.
Additional Skills
All I can put in this area is the fact that I may not be experienced, but I have what it takes to deliver whatever the client wants. I may have amateur equipment, but I am good at making it work. I can write jingles, I can make music with Fruiy Loops to fit any needs, I play the accoustic guitar (I can pick and lead to some extent, but I am mostly a strummer). I wrote a song in about 10 minutes about the morning talk show where I come from and it won my previous band a spot to play a big music festival opening for big names in the rock industry such as Saliva and Puddle of Mud. If you would like to hear this, go to www.myspace.com/iiitimestildawn and click on the song that says Tommy and Beep'n Rumble. The title of the festival that year was "The BEEP", named for the beep that radio hosts give off when a curse word is edited out. So never mind the cursing behind the beeps. I recorded, slightly edited (it was just a quick do and done so that we could get it in early), and slightly mixed it all with Fruity Loops. I can give you what you need.
