Voice Description

Most people cannot guess my United States state of origin, as I can do many USA and worldly accents and can learn just about any accent called upon to to do. Otherwise, my voice is warm, mature, educated and deep southern/western/eastern accents when needs be, professional, smooth and sexy and fun for lead ins, commercials and any text reading/speech and audio books/radio and film voice overs for the most part. I can adapt to just about any accent or that of my own design to suit your needs. I can work with anyone and meet any deadline. I would not state otherwise. I can also join Unions should the job require.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I can do some light comedy, some animal-types. Many say I can sound like Sean Connery, John Lennon, George Harrison, or an upper and lower class Englishman, Irishman, old-southern U.S. gentleman, Middle USA, or Eastern USA accents, as well as German and French accents in English/American.

My Voice Experience

After the Vietnam war, I worked in television production, first writing TV commercials, then having to do the voice-overs when others failed, as I can do many accents and pitches. Being a singer-songwriter, I presently have an album of Folk/Americana music released by Cherry Picker Publishing as well as being a member of BMI as a songwriter/composer/producer. Many say my singing is a cross-section between Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, or the late George Harrison: a 'Travelin' Wilbury.' I am a former stage actor of The Repertory Theater and acted in several Clint Eastwood movies wherein my voice was also used in several different southern accents (Civil War movies). When I worked at PBS in New Orleans (WYES), my voice was used on all station IDs: I can do the 'generic radio pro' type voice when needs be but prefer my own style, or to please your needs.

My Training

When working in television production as a young man, I was called upon to do the voice overs for the TV spots I had written when the professionals were ill or not available. I was working my way through college (Liberal Arts/Education degrees)and have sung my Folk/Americana songs all across America. Speech writer. I am a Graduate of The Columbia school of Broadcasting, Elkins Institute of electronics and 'The Country Gentleman' voice training at Belle Helena Plantation, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

My Studio Equipment

I mostly now use my computer with professional microphones such as Shure, AKG and others. I use only the top software for voice recording. I avoid using 'any' special effects added to my voice to change the pitch unless asked to do so. I also have access to a professional recording studio to suit your over all needs. In other words, I prefer to use my own voice and accents as opposed to any special effects unless asked to do so, which I am willing to attempt.

Additional Skills

Please keep in mind that I am a published Poet/novelist/songwriter/speech writer, which would allow me to help in the writing of any 'spots' for national and or local Broadcasts for extra incentive and consideration. Having been a professional actor, I can add many forms of emoting to your ads and or audio books, which I truly enjoy being blessed with this gift. I am a natural optimist and work well with just about anyone. I am trained in meeting deadlines from my work in radio and television production and Radio/Television news.
