My Voice Experience

Classic BBC voice have recorded voice overs for presentations, commercials, and of course radio. Short stories, audio magazines for the blind. Previous companies include BBC, BBC World Service, AP, Mutual/WestwoodOne/NBC Radio/CBS Radio.

My Training

Born in North East England, I had my Yorkshire accent trained out of me with elocution lessons at boarding school. Appeared in school plays, al sorts of amateur theater, won awards at the Cheltenham Festival for voice work, debating, obtained speech certificates for drama and poetry. Ran Dramatic Society at university (UCL-London) and joined Voice of America in Jerusalem as reporter. Returned to UK and joined BBC. Back to Middle East for BBC in 1982 and reported from there on air and then from Washington DC as State Department Correspondent for over 12 years. Appeared on many talk shows especially CSpan as foreign policy pundit. Began daily radio show on technology for CBS Radio News which is now in its 21st year. Have produced all my own work for years. Hosted and presented the Computerworld Smithsonian awards in 1996.

I produce all my audi using a Mac and several different editing programs. I use a Shure Beta 58 mic.

Additional Skills

I've done so much and met and interviewed so many people it's hard to add to this profile without boring you. I travelled on Air Force 1, two of them - and with the Secretaries of State. I've interviewed Kings, Princes, Prime Ministers, Presidents, rebels, members of the PLO, refugees, hookers and all manner of people in different professions.
