Voice Description

My voice is articulate and well paced for educational purposes. It can be warm and caring for human services, meditation, or nonprofit scripts. For children's scripts engaging, fun, and relaxed. Deadpan or sarcastic for comedy.

And as one coach told me, "You have the kind of voice that makes people want to give money to PBS."

My Voice Experience

While new to this field, I have done many kinds of presentations that have required a confident vocal delivery. This included speaking for professional organizations, graduate school courses, entertainment venues, and children.

My Training

I trained with Edge Studio in Fairfield, CT with Randye Kaye and Dave Evans. I also learned home recording and editing techniques through Edge Studio, Dan Lenard, and others. When not in the booth, I am onstage performing in community theater and presenting as a motivational speaker, life coach, and Reiki practitioner. I hold a bachelor's degree in English from UConn and a master's degree in counseling from Fairfield University.

My Studio Equipment

My home studio--which doubles as my padded cell--is equipped with an AT-4040 microphone and a Saffire Pro 24 interface.

Additional Skills

My entire working life has been devoted to nonprofits. This would include libraries--particularly working in the art, music, and film collections; human services where I served as a human resources manager; and universities where I provided counseling to returning adult students as well as education and training to budding therapists. In addition, I had a private practice as a therapist and Reiki practitioner. My background makes me quite comfortable with cultural, educational/training, and human development/new age assignments. I loved it all and look forward to being the voice behind the message in the voice over industry.
