My Voice Experience

Right from 1999 I have performed live on stage in poetry and theatre productions that required all types of method acting characters. This led to television adverts, mostly as a mother in detergent and butter adverts, and radio adverts for hair care, detergents and condoms.

Once television advertising took a hold in Kenya my voice was used from 2005 by internet service providers (ISPs Swift Global), tour operators, hotels (Sarova), agricultural & insurance companies (AON Minet).

Other voice over jobs include the Kenya Airways CD Rom promotion package for American travel agents in 2002 and the International Fund for Animal Welfare CD Rom in 2003.

Presenting a travel show was fun and punchy, and so were my voice overs so as to grab the attention of viewers and make them want to go on that trip!

With the increasing drive to make Kenyans appreciate agriculture like our ancestors did, I voiced a documentary on potato farming - from farm to frying pan - including the hurdles that farmers face from crooked brokers. This was the latest in November 2011.

Additional Skills

Having presented television shows that range from fun explorative family travel to moderately serious business lifestyle interviews to very serious national news covering heart wrenching stories, my voice has had plenty of training in diversity.

On the stage my roles varied from the mad witch in Shakespeare's Henry III to an Indian woman in Role Play to a naive large-spectacle-wearing wife in the farce Rumours.
