Voice Description
My general speaking voice is RP with no particular regional (home counties) accent. I regard my voice as completely neutral which can be moulded to suit any particular recording. I have a good ear (see below) and I believe I can mimic most accents, both UK regional and worldwide if the opportunity arises.

My Voice Experience
I have a musical background (cello and piano) and I learned the art of keeping time at a very early age. I went on to sing in the school choir, joined a pop band at 19 and I currently sing in a duo with my musician husband and in a ten-piece soul and blues band, both with regular gigs. I have auditioned for a children's animation series which required a range of worldwide accents (very challenging!). I have assisted with read-throughs for cast auditions, and last August I cut my first showreel which I am currently presenting to voice-over agents.
My Training
I have no formal vocal training other than what is mentioned above, but after a studio audition I was complimented on my technique and skills. I have found that singing professionally has been extremely beneficial and it is something I love to do. I enjoy listening to radio & TV advertisements to check out the competition! I worked for some years within the music and television industries and I am involved with a film & documentary company. I have read two books on vocal training "Make Your Voice Heard" by Chuck Jones and "The Art of Voice Acting" by James R Alburger. The "cork" exercise really works!

Additional Skills
When I arrived at the studio to cut my showreel with one minute to spare due to unscheduled roadworks, I had no time to think let alone run through prospective scripts. I had to get "stuck in" and get on with it and the result was that my engineer was not only relieved but full of admiration for my "professional attitude" he said.
We had great fun - just one take for each script - and he also said he wished that all his clients were as easy to work with. From this you will have gathered that I like to present a friendly, easy-going, well-mannered, patient and compassionate attitude. I am eager to start work and assist you with your recordings, whatever they may be.
