Voice over acting runs in my family. I was first exposed to it as a child, as my father did the voices for Cecil the Seasick Sea Serpent and Dishonest John in the hit 1960s cartoon series "Beany & Cecil." I did TV commercials as a child, and studied acting seriously in college and ever since.
In the last couple of years, I've been taking my acting and performance skills into voice over work. One of my recent clients was Thomson Reuters, for whom I did voice overs that were used internally and externally to promote the legal division and one of its new websites.
Another client for whom I do on-going work is a media group that sells spots to regional markets. I've done a series of TV ads for them in which I am the voice of an animated furnace.
I recently was hired to be the ongoing voice of the Subaru dealership in Bloomington, MN, which is the top-selling dealership in the Upper Midwest.
I received voice over training from Terry Daniels. My acting coach is Cheryl Brinkley, with whom I've worked off and on for many years. I studied theatre and music in college, and have a degree in vocal music. I studied theatre and musicology in grad school. I've done a lot of stage performance, including drama, comedy, and musicals.
I took classes in production from a local TV station, volunteered as a camera-operator, and also shot and produced my own video.
My studio is set up with Studio One software, Garageband software, and a PreSonus M7 mic. I'm fairly new to audio engineering, but can produce and deliver a clean voice track in MP3 or WAV file.
I've been modeling and dancing since the age of 4, and did TV commercials as a child.
I've taught workshops and classes on a variety of subjects, including dance and yoga, so I'm comfortable with presentations.
I've worked in marketing/communications in corporate and non-profit settings, and have worked as a freelance writer and editor for many years. I've worked in a variety of industries including architecture, engineering, construction, legal, health care, hospitality, hotel, retail, manufacturing, and gourmet foods.
Some of my life-long interests and studies include women's history, mythology, spirituality, and the paranormal. I also have a great fondness for Ireland and enjoy traveling there.
