My Voice Experience
Growing up I used to carry a tape recorder so I could record myself talking to everyone I encountered throughout the day. When I got home I'd listen to the tape with glee. Getting into acting late into high school I was consistently cast as the wackier characters. When I was chosen to study theatre at Chapman University this trend seemed to continue. My most memorable performances playing the broadcast official in Thornton Wilder's 'The Skin of Our Teeth.' It was a fun Rod Serling type character. Later in my acting career I got to do my dream role of playing the voice of The Plant, Audrey 2, In 'Little Shop of Horrors.' Soon after graduating from Chapman I got my current voice job working at the Disneyland Resort playing the voice of Crush the sea turtle from Disney/Pixar's 'Finding Nemo.'
My Training
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatrical Performance,
Chapman University
VoiceTrax West Commercial and Animation Training, Susan Palyo
Vocal Workshops with Artt Butler
My Studio Equipment
Pretty simple setup, just using a Blue Snowball Mic and Audacity. If need be I can record at VoiceTrax West for ISDN and other services.
Additional Skills
I am very musically inclined. I played the piano growing up and it has influenced my knowledge and understanding of music and rhythm which translated over to my skills of playing the drums and slap bass guitar. I've found that a music background influences how I use my voice and helps me to be more creative in making new voices and sounds.
