I can do a very wide variety of reads. I can do some characters and different dialects (Australian, New Yorker, Redneck or pure Southern, Russian, British, Irish, German, etc.) I have the ability to make my voice go deeper or higher as needed. I also have the ability to not only do a very relaxed read (eg. PSAs), but a very upbeat read (eg. car dealership) as well. I consider myself very versatile and I believe I could do any type of read if given the opportunity.

My Voice Experience

I have been in radio since my early college days. Since then I have done reads for several companies and radio stations. Everything from mom and pop outlets, to major companies like: Ford, NBC, Hooters, Sears, Lifetime, Lance Crackers, Purina, JC Penny and Hardees just to name a few. I have also done voice over imaging work in CHR, Country, Dance, Techno and Top 40. I believe I also have the ability to branch out and try new formats and different reads.

I've also done character reads for radio promos and bits. Some of the characters I've done in the past are Golem from Lord Of The Rings, Kermit The Frog, former President Bill Clinton, Godfather/Soprano wiseguy and a rough New Yorker. I can also do holiday specific characters like elves for Christmas or Dracula, Igor and other characters for Halloween. There are other characters that I can do, and I would love to try some character acting.

I've always been able to adapt and consistently deliver what clients have asked from me. Everything from straight reads, sarcastic, serious, low key, comedy, you name it. I'm a firm believer in being versatile and am very open to trying new things.

My Training

Throughout my radio career I have been the right hand of many talented production directors and voice talents. I learned very quickly to just listen and take in how they deliever certain reads. Then I would take what I learned from them, and make it my own.

I was also able to take a couple communications classes in college. This helped me become more comfortable and confident with my general delivery. Having poise and confidence when you deliver any read, whether it be face to face with a client or in a room by yourself, is very important. I was fortunate enough to learn that from some very skilled professors.

Additional Skills

I have a bachelors degree in computer science and have been a freelance web designer for many years. Certain reads or voice overs that call for technical jargon may be easier for someone like me because I'm very familiar with it. I have also coached a few college students on how to give presentations and how to deliver a good speech. Public speaking can be just like a straight read for a commercial or documentary.
