My Voice Experience

My voice over experience started at school when I was asked to narrate a school play and although nervous I enjoyed it immensely. I have done small professional recordings for business answerphones and been a Karaoke MC. I privately recorded an epic story that spanned over four volumes and it was particularly remarked upon the way I altered my voice to represent each character. I have taken part in amateur dramatics,written and performed speeches and presentations and given workshops on Holistic Therapies. Being able to present information in a factual manner without being boring is something I work hard to do and the use of character voices or accents and humour is extremely useful. I write poetry and have been fortunate enough to be able to perform some of my own work. I thorougly enjoy reading aloud and bringing a concept or story to life.

My Training

In My 2 Year Diploma in Holistic Therapies we had to learn the art of public presentation skills but other than that I have no formal qualifications.

Additional Skills

I feel that although my skills are not formalised in the sense of voice over work I am able to read well and love to perform with my voice. I have previous experience within offices and sales and have been told on numerous occasions that I have a very sexy telephone voice. I also used to make fun and fantastic answerphone messages for my private phone and my friends would get their friends to call them up to listen to my outgoing message. I have worked as a Receptionist, Branch Manager, Cabaret Club Manager and Recruitment Consultant, all roles that have needed great communication skills.
