Voice Description

I have extensive experience voicing both radio advertisements, television narration, and phone messages. My voice is comforting and rich, and would be ideal for any project that requires a soothing presence in a trying situation. I would also be ideal for a narration project that requires the calm delivery of sensitive information. I have a deep voice that has a touch of huskiness at the end of each word, which I feel increases a listener's affinity with me and the product. I can also have a very serious business-like tone, for times when important things need to be discussed. In short, I sound honest and caring.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I come from West Virginia, and have worked hard to cover up a bit of a Southern draw. However, it still comes out occasionally. I can leave the "G" off the end of words and holler a "ya'll" when the time is right.

My Voice Experience

My voice is confident, warm, and people identify with it. In short, I sound like the guy who lives down the street who everyone knows and likes. My voice has been "on the air" in some form or another for the past 13 years. People have heard my voice and said to me, "Hey, you're the guy I heard on the TV talking about ..." I've voiced hundreds of TV projects in my career in television news, even more in my past work at a radio station, and dozens of internet projects in my current position in communications.

My Training

I have a degree in broadcasting and a master's degree in communications. My training has been on the job - in television news and radio production. If you're looking for a stiff "voice actor" who sounds like they have a board up their back, I'm not your guy. If you want an honest voice that people identify with and trust, that's me!

My Studio Equipment

I currently use a MXL 990 condenser microphone with the shock mount stand. I also use a popscreen in front of the mic. The mic goes into a Behringer board that is connected to my laptop. I edit the files with Alesis and can deliver the finished product in .mp3 format via email.
