Voice Description

I am a Caucasian male voice who is old enough to know and still young enough to go. I work well with different people and environments. I am mature and settled. I can be excited as well as calm and quite. My tone is casual, warm, approachable, and friendly but I can also be “Larry The Cable Guy” if needed. I am a middle aged to senior male talent. I can proofread a presentation for any unclear statements to be as close to everyday (yet NOT colloquial) American English as possible. I provide voice over for corporate presentations, training videos, and online tutorials, audio books, etc.

I can do some animal mimics.

I can do rural, "country/redneck" style.

I can do a story reading or sound like a "city" type person.

I can do excited, pensive or just plain old "used car salesman".

My Voice Experience

I have been to the voice over school run in Birmingham, AL by Mrs. Marie Prater who's husband I believe is a local TV personality. Many of her students have gone on to very productive voice over careers.

I have been in many local community theater performances in various character portrayals.

When I was in high school I was very fortunate to have an excellent Speech Class teacher who worked a lot on phonetic speaking. Since I have lived in many regions while in the military and after my discharge, my voice has blended in most of the dialects of the various regions of the country.

Most of my local friends in town think that I was not born and reared here because of the blending of the different dialects across the nation into my voice. Complete strangers have interrupted my conversation from time to time to tell me that I should be on radio of TV because of my voice.

My Training

I have an ASEE degree and I am currently in my junior year of Computer Science. I have been to the voice over school run in Birmingham, AL by Mrs. Marie Prater who's husband I believe is a local TV personality.

I have been in many local community theater performances portraying many different types of characters, some requiring a degree of change in my voice to correctly portray a characters personality.

My Studio Equipment

At the present time I only have a PC, mono headset, dynamic microphone and some very good open source recording software. I have access to regular production studio equipment through my local radio station contacts.

Additional Skills

I was in submarines during my military service (now a disabled veteran). I have been an instructor/trainer for the DOD for several years after my military service. I have been an over-the-road truck driver for 11 years. I have had a lot of experience talking over the airways on the CB radio to complete strangers and the local radio call-in talk show.
