My Voice Experience

I have been involved in voice training since my childhood and have obtained all my Guildhall Speech and Drama grade exams. I am a member of a well known local amateur dramatic society in Belfast and have won numerous acting awards in the annual amateur drama festivals in Northern Ireland. The characters I have portrayed have ranged from serious roles in, for example, a Brian Friel play to the rather more hilarious character in the comedy of a Derek Benfield farce. As a primary school teacher for more than 20 years, I have great experience in narration of children's stories and can perform numerous voices for different characters. I am also a qualified musician and can incorporate singing into my repertoire if required.

B Ed Degree in Music and Dramatic Art with English
Diploma in the Advanced Study of Education
Studying for ATCL Performing (Speech and Drama)
Have attended numerous drama workshops over the years. Have run my own Music and Drama workshops, and Literacy workshops for both children and adults.
Produced numerous musical plays for children.
Was a member of a media studies group for local teachers in N Ireland for a number of years, and successfully introduced the topic into my own school's curriculum.
