My Voice Experience
By day, I am a college instructor of English Literature, which gives me the opportunity to read poetry and commentaries.
By night, I am a radio "personality" where I can tell stories, ask listeners for recipes, and when needed, read the news. I have written and recorded countless PSAs.
I have served as a voice for political commercials for regional politicians in North Carolina.
During my high school years, I worked as a switchboard operator at the local resort.
My Training
In college, I was a theatre minor, which required participation in a number of productions. I acted in some, directed a few, and edited the sound effects for a number of productions during my undergrad career.
My master's degree is in Professional Writing, which included writing commercials and news articles, as well as radio and television scripts.
I have worked five years at the local radio station writing and producing countless Public Service Announcements, and serving as the voice for numerous commercials. At the station, I have been involved in everything from live broadcasts to production of a variety of ad campaigns.
Most recently, I worked on a project basis with a local political campaign. In that job, I did a good deal of voice overs, but I was also called on to produce and/or edit several commercials.

Additional Skills
In secretarial positions over the years, I have recorded the voice mail messages for the different extensions.
I have experience with Cool Edit Pro (Now Adobe Audition) and other sound editing software.
In teaching, I have become very comfortable in online environments as well as classrooms. This means there may be the need for "live" readings of selections. For the poetry section of my online literature class, I produced a collection of poetry readings that could be distributed to my online class.
