My Training

I have been working professionally in the recording industry for twenty five years, and have established myself both as a musician and producer. I began working as a voice over producer in 1998 with artists such as Eliza Schneider and Nancy Sorel. In 2009, I began working for Rock101 KUFO in Portland, Oregon hosting a weekly radio show called "Metalopolis" I was the personality, DJ, producer and editor for all talk breaks where we prerecorded everything in my studio, prepared all tracks with FX and sent them off for broadcasting. This is when I began receiving many offers to voice Commercials, Sweeps, Imaging, PSA and other Announcements.

Additional Skills

Ivan started his career as a professional drummer when he was still in high school in New York playing with groove metal band White Zombie. Ivan recorded and toured with White Zombie for six years, releasing three full length albums (Soul-Crusher, Make Them Die Slowly, and La Sexorcisto), and three EP’s (Pig Heaven, Psycho-Head Blowout and God of Thunder). During Ivan’s career with White Zombie, he did major touring of North America and Europe and recorded for Geffen and Caroline Records. In the subsequent years since White Zombie disbanded, a Greatest Hits CD (Past, Present and Future) and a box set (Let Sleeping Corpses Lie) featuring almost every song the band ever recorded has also been released and feature Ivan’s heavy hitting style. “La Sexorcisto – Devil Music Vol. 1” was nominated for a Grammy for Best Metal Performance and is a multi-platinum selling album.
Ivan expanded his musical skills after White Zombie to include other styles of music, including world percussion, and began producing and engineering projects in his studio, Burningsound. He has worked with many artists including L7, Prong, and The Willowz and can be heard on the soundtrack for Sony’s Ghost Rider. He has recently completed drums, production, and re-mixing on a song by KMFDM released on the album "Krieg" in 2009.
Ivan’s love of metal and world percussion led him to start a band that incorporated both styles and Healer was born. Middle-eastern melodies and edgy riffs are combined, creating a listening experience that is rich in quality and beautiful in sound. Healer’s debut album, “Awakening” was recorded and mixed in Ivan’s studio, Burningsound and Ivan also produced and engineered the album. Healer has toured on the Vans Warped Tour and played the Coachella Valley Music Festival in Southern California. The avant garde performance troupe, Lucent Dossier features music from “Awakening” in performances around the world.
Ivan has also been a member of Las Vegas based metalcore band, KREEP, who performed for a sold out crowd at the legendary Hard Rock Hotel and Casino’s The Joint in December, 2008. KREEP’s full length album, “Lead Us Not” was recorded and mixed in Ivan’s studio, Burningsound, and released in August, 2009. KREEP toured North America in summer, 2009 in support of “Lead Us Not”.
Ivan has been hosting the weekly metal show, Metalopolis on Rock 101 KUFO FM in Portland, Oregon for two years which has reached the number 1 listened to radio show in its region during its time slot. Ivan has carte blanche over his playlist and his goal is to connect fans of metal with the largest variety of metal music he can bring them. Ivan regularly interviews metal artists so the listener can stay informed about the scene and Metalopolis has partnered with a local promoter to give bands an opportunity to promote their shows as well.
