Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

In my travels I am able to adapt my voice to the regional accents, such as, Mexico, Canada, London, Texas, Carribean.
I have also been told my singing voice is very adaptable to a wide genre of musical styles; jazz, big band, pop americana, classic soul, california folk-rock, mexican romantico, mariachi, tex-mex.

My Voice Experience

I grew as a child hearing my father sing romantic latin ballads with a group of musicians I later learned was a trio. I loved the music and would sing along quietly... because of course my father wouldn't hear of me wanting to be out there in that profession that was considered not the place for a decent young lady. I decided I would at least join the school choir in the 5th grade and performed in all mucic events through grammar school and there began my continuous love for music and I never stopped singing. I became a part of the Glee Club in high school and performed through those years. As an adult I would sing various genres here and there at various events as requested. Rehearsal and preparation are an important and necessary requirement when asked to perform for these events. I have been singing with various church Choirs. I later in 1987 auditioned and was accepted as a part of the Altos in the Papal Choir for the Papal Visit here in Los Angeles. I have sung for several municipal and fundraising events throughout my adult life. I have also made the acquaintance of Jose Hernandez, Director of Mariachi Sol de Mexico, and was given an opportunity to audition for occasional singing. In 1997 I auditioned and was given a cast position as First Choir Member on the television show "ER" episode #4.7: "Fathers and Sons". While the video of myself on camera wound up on the cutting room floor, the audio of my voice can clearly be heard leading the singing of "Vaya Con Dios" as part of a funeral mass. I have also recently sat in with Bolero Soul, a spanish language romantic duet very popular in the Los Angeles area.
